Combating Natural Resource Trafficking in the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (Phase 1)

Objectives: 
(1) Support customs and other law enforcement agencies in developing a CITES enforcement capacity building program to strengthen detection of illegal trafficking of wildlife products, forestry and other natural resources at ports of entry in KAZA and across the five Partner States (2) Support implementation and institutionalization of the CITES enforcement capacity building program within and between KAZA States

Creation of a standardised CITES Customs enforcment Standard Operating Procedure for customs agencies and frontline law enforcement operating within the KAZA TFCA. 
Training of customs officials and other frontline officials on the SOPs  and establishment of CITES knowledge resources within the agencies.
