USAID Resilient Waters Programme

Resilient Waters is a five-year (June 2018 – June 2023) program financed by USAID and implemented by Chemonics International. The geographic focus of Resilient Waters includes areas within and closely linked to the Limpopo River Basin (LRB) and the Cubango-Okavango River Basin (CORB).

The Government of Mozambique adopted the National Strategy for Adaptation and Mitigation of Climate Change in November 2012. With the Strategy, the Government intends to promote climate resilience at district and municipal level, moving to the provincial level by 2019. To that end, the Strategy defines adapting and managing climate risk as a priority and recommends integrating climate change into the planning and budgeting process. Considering that this integration is a process, the Strategy establishes that in subsequent years, the focus will be on integration at the district and municipal level, aiming at creating resilience at this level.

It is in this context that the Xai-Xai Municipal Council and the USAID Resilient Waters Program has decided to develop the creation of the Local Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change.

Offerors are invited to submit proposals in response to the attached Request for Proposals. All questions or clarifications regarding this RFP must be in writing and submitted to Lindela Mketeni, Livelihoods and Adaptation Associate lmketeni[at]resilientwaters[dot]com no later than 5 February 2021 at 17:00.
