This is the 2023 Annual Meeting of the SADC TFCA Network. The meeting will be in Maputo form 14th to 17th November 2023.

2022 SADC TFCA Network Annualy Network meeting

SADC Secretariat, in collaboratin with various partners is convening the next hybrid annual SADC TFCA Network on 26-28 September 2022 at the Premier Roodevalley Hotel in Pretoria, South Africa.

Annual SADC TFCA Network meeting 12-13 Oct 2021

The SADC TFCA Network took place from 12-13 October 2021. The TFCA Network meeting was devided over two mornings and open to all TFCA Network member from across the SADC region and beyond.

Amongst others the meeting provided an update on progress on individual TFCA development, update on new projects in SADC TFCAs, update on the implementation of the SADC TFCA Financing Facility and other funding mechanisms as well as highlight lessons learned and provide recommendations to SADC statutory structures.

Webinar: CMS and IUCN initiatives supporting TFCAs

The East African Community (EAC) Secretariat have recently established a new TBCA working group over the past two webinars SADC TFCA Network members have shared experiences and learnings from SADC TFCAs. In this webinar, CMS and IUCN will share information about some specific initiatives that support TFCA management and species conservation across EAC and SADC.

Launch of the Big Data Analytics and Transboundary Water Collaboration Southern Africa

The Big Data Analytics and Transboundary Water Collaboration is a funding initiative comprising the SADC Groundwater Management Institute, the USAID Global Development Lab and Southern African Regional Mission, the South African Department for Science and Technology, IBM Africa Research Lab and the US Geological Survey, supported by the Sustainable Water Partnership. 

The Collaboration shall introduce the 4 funded projects seeking to support decision-making on groudwater in transboundary aquifers, and launch its Community of Practice.

2018 Annual SADC TFCAs Network Meeting

The Annual SADC TFCAs Network Meeting is coming up!

This year, it will be hosted by the Southern African Wildlife College (South Africa) and the topics will range from the changing donor landscape of our region to the role of co-management in Protected Areas management.

A special intervention is from the Senior Biodiversity Specialist (Programs Unit) of The World Bank, who is going to have a special session on the GEF 7 program, its attention to supporting widlife activities in Southern Africa and the procedure to obtain funding.

Presentation of the Draft M&E Framework for the SADC TFCAs Programme to the WTC

The final stage of the project to draft the M&E Framework for the SADC TFCAs Programme was the presentation of the revised document to the SADC Wildlife Technical Committee. This was done in Johannesburg on 30 October 2017.
