I am a tourism economics scholar whose research focuses on the intersection of transfrontier conservation areas (TFCAs), regional economic development, and community wellbeing. I examine how cross-border tourism systems shape market integration, spatial interdependence, and the distribution of benefits among local communities. By integrating quantitative modelling with context-specific regional analysis, I investigate how cooperative conservation frameworks affect tourism flows, livelihoods, and policy outcomes across southern Africa. My scholarship provides evidence-based insights to support more inclusive, resilient, and economically integrated TFCA landscapes. Through empirical and policy-oriented research, I seek to align conservation objectives with community-centred economic development in Southern Africa and beyond.
