(1) Conduct in-depth research into market, sociological, and environmental factors of mahampy weaving, which will inform SEED’s approach to achieving the remaining three objectives: (2) Foster effective support mechanisms for weavers through the establishment of a Cooperative; (3) Provide training to the weavers to capitalise on opportunities for improving income generation; and (4) Implement sustainable management and monitoring practices to safeguard mahampy resources

Project Mahampy aims to improve the livelihoods of women from rural communities in Madagascar whilst ensuring that the mahampy reedbeds on which they rely are healthy, resilient, and productive.
