Date and time: 11 December 2025, 1400–1600 hrs (regional time)

Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) and River Basin Organizations (RBOs) sit at the nexus of biodiversity conservation, water security, and resilient livelihoods. As climate risks intensify, integrating risk-informed development (RID) into governance, planning, and programming across these institutions is essential to safeguard ecosystem services, strengthen disaster risk reduction (DRR), and catalyse nature-positive investment.

This webinar— “Building Enabling Environment for TFCAs/RBOs Risk-Informed Development Planning and Programming”—will convene government officials, practitioners, and researchers to explore how TFCAs can integrate a risk-informed decision making in the natural resources management and unlocking nature-positive investments that enhance both livelihoods and biodiversity.

Key discussion points:
• How can risk-informed development approach advance TFCAs/RBOs disaster risk reduction.
• Experiences on sectors collaboration with National Disaster Management Agencies in drought management.
• Potential learning pathways to support TFCA/RBOs awareness raising and sharing of lessons for integration.
• Practical entry points for policy and operational integration of RID.
